Belgian Chocolate Anus Anyone?

Nothing says I love you (and your ass) like the gift of a pure Belgian chocolate anus. That’s right, a company in London called Edible Anus offers candy in the shape of a bung-hole, also known as a “bootyhole,” “pooper,” or “bungus.”

“For us”, the company says “making chocolate is an art, which is why we only produce traditional hand made chocolate of the highest standard here in the UK. Our Chocolates come in “meek milk”, “dilated dark” and “tight white Belgian chocolate.”  (I’m surprised they didn’t do one with nuts in it or crispy things, to mimic the real texture of the “real” chocolate that comes out of the “Hershey Highway.”)

It all started out as a cheeky art exhibit by London artist and Edible Anus creator Magnus who made a range of butt-hole shaped chocolates for an art exhibition. He originally tried to cast his own, but it didn’t go well, according to his website:

“The Edible Anus first saw the light of day when the London artist, Magnus Irvin, made a range of them in multi-coloured chocolate to present in an exhibition. Initially Mr. Irvin tried to cast his own anus with messy and disastrous results. Whilst explaining his failure to a chance aquaintance at a bus stop he was gratified to find that his fellow bus passenger was willing to allow him to cast her anus. The job was done in just over half an hour later that afternoon and all subsequent anuses have been based on this casting. It is a matter of interest that the person who kindly donated her service has no idea that her anus has now gone global.”  Consider it pop art, I mean “poop art.”

“One size fits all,” says the company. “The Edible Anus is the perfect present for Mother’s Day, a family wedding or simply an amuse-bouche for that timid, confirmed bachelor next door.” (More like amuse-butt). The “art-holes” cost $12.50 for a box of three.

The company even gets political and  says “We also believe the anus range can dissolve cultural boundaries of race, gender, class, and sexual orientation. So spread the joy, and let’s all teach the world to LOVE EACH OTHER AND LOVE THE ANUS.”

It’s better than being an asshole.

The Gender Code: Gender & Sexuality Documentary by Luka

The Gender Code: A New Documentary On Gender On Youtube

The Gender Code is a new documentary on gender and sexuality by filmmaker and artist, Luka. Luka is a 29 year old trans activist and visionary from Ireland, who identifies as gender feminine, and who has spent the past 6 years creating this documentary that examines gender and sexuality in a different way than what is culturally defined in today’s society. Luka created the film: writing, directing, animating, producing and appearing in it; which is an amazing accomplishment for one person, to create a film almost 2 hours long that is so professionally produced, visually and intellectually compelling.

The film is very beautifully animated and artistic, which makes it a pleasure to watch. But, more importantly is the subject matter it explores, from the POV of trans, feminine, non-binary and gender-fluid people. There are many interviews, historical news footage covering the GLBTQ+ history and movements, as well as some disturbing flashes of trans-phobia and gender violence. Yet, the ending is very powerful, and visualizes a hopeful new paradigm of gender fluidity beyond what we recognize in today’s culture that is inclusive, and embraces both our inner and outer masculine and feminine qualities on a dynamic spectrum that humanity can embrace.

“There is an expanding culture of people emerging, who for the first time in history are starting to have the resources to explore their identities (transgender, fluid, non- binary, etc.) Effectively and more recently, a huge number of men are exploring their attraction to us. The reality is we have very limited language, education or precedents to understand or navigate people’s identities and preferences.

The Gender Code is a documentary animated and created by me over a period of years, that looks at the bigger picture of gender and sexuality through my understanding and observations.”–Luka, filmmaker: The Gender Code

Our Language for Exploring Gender is Limited

The Gender Code- film still

“The reality is we have very limited language, education or precedents to understand or navigate people’s identities and preferences. Everyday I check my mail or my Grindr account receiving a shocking amount of messages from men who say they are discovering trans girls / feminine males, and they can’t openly acknowledge this. A lot of times this shame turns to them sexually objectifying us. This invisibility, and lack of education is extremely painful and urgent. I will do anything to get my message out there. It is my dream to start a conversation and bring education to the invisible.”

We Are at the Start of a Revolution

“I really believe that all human beings have the ability to love someone of the same sex, and that gender can take many forms. Humanity is more of a spectrum, rather than gay or straight. We’ve been divided by an illusion of “Gay and Straight” and there is a lot of lost potential. Our current language is outdated and was written a long time ago by people who may not have had the reality of everyone in mind. People are crying out for a regeneration of thinking. I really feel we are at the very early stages of a revolution.”

The Gender Code Takes a Fresh Look at Gender Diversity

The Gender Code- film still

“Looking at our past, present and our future, The Gender Code acts as a map to help navigate this emerging reality. It’s an intensely researched, non biased, guide of the bigger picture of gender and sexuality through my experiences and observations. I would like to think it takes a fresh unique look at the entire reality of what we know as LGBTQ and brings things into a 21st century perspective, departing from traditional oppressive thinking and effectively expanding everyone’s potential.”

“Through my observations and research (and intense it was!) I’ve come to the conclusion that most of societies ideas, customs and rhetoric are passed down from an outdated and superstitious space, lacking scientific and feminine or (yang) consciousness.”

“I found many hypocritical and unfair realities and entities that I wanted to bring into the light, the main one being that the theory of sexuality and gender, is, in my research and understanding actually, a 20th century myth based on feminine and masculine polarity within the left and right cerebral hemispheres of the brain.”–From an interview with Luka at GCN News.

Gender Dysphoria or Cultural Dysphoria?

“I’m Luka, I’m the person in the video, I’m 28 years old, I am gender feminine, (meaning my gender feelings and expressions are on the more feminine side of the spectrum. My biological sex is male and I am proud and ok with that. I don’t feel I have dysphoria with my genitals, rather I have dysphoria with society’s outdated customs and expectations of what / how and who people should all dress behave and love, based on our biological sex. (whether we have an innie or an outie, should not define our life paths!)”

Museum of Sex Rebrands How We View Sex

Sex sells, but how do you sell a museum about sex?  It’s hard. One of our favorite museums,The Museum of Sex in New York City, is going through a re-branding. The museum, which features in-depth exhibitions that “view art, fashion, history, science and more, through the lense of sex” has been around for 14 years, and is more probing and interesting than ever.

But even before it opened, founder Daniel Gluck had to fight the New York State Board of Regents, who rejected its application for non-profit status, objecting that the idea of a “museum of sex made a mockery” of the concept of a museum. Meanwhile,  William Donohue, of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, an organization that actually believes most of the sex people are having is a sin, called it a “museum of smut.” (Mr. Donohue needs to have some good, sweaty, “dirty” sex asap.)

But Mr. Gluck wanted to start a museum dedicated to “the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality.” “People have baggage about what a ‘sex brand’ can be” he says; that’s what we’ve been fighting against since we’ve started. The Museum of Sex is for those who seek a deeper understanding of sexuality.”

Current exhibits include “Hardcore, A Century of Obscene Imagery,” and “Object XXX, Selected Objects from The Museum Of Sex Archive,” which includes two silicone sex dolls to ogle, a couture dress made from condoms, and a bicycle powered sex machine.

Designer Penis Jewelry Anyone?

For those who love jewelry as much as they do penis, designer brand Yves St. Laurent has created a matching set of penis earrings and a penis necklace. Priced at $345, the “penis dangle earring” in “patinatated golden brass”, is completely sold out online, but is available at YSL’s 29 stores across the county. For pierced ears only, the earrings are marketed to women.

Although we love penises, especially matching ones, the black stuff around the head of the mini peens looks kinda funky. Despite this, these things are flying off the shelves. Each penis is engraved with “Saint Laurent Paris” on each side so everyone knows its the real thing.

The “penis pendant”, also in “golden brass”, sells for $795.00 and sold out immediately online. The chain is adjustable so you can move the little weiner up and down on your neck, as your friends  point and laugh at it.

Legendary fashion designer Yves St. Laurent was at his height in the 1960’s and 70’s, and according the The Telegraph, was “the King of radical chic.”

According to his obituary in The New York Times, “During a career that ran from 1957 to 2002, he was largely responsible for changing the way modern women dress, putting them into pants both day and night, into peacoats and safari jackets, into “le smoking” (as the French call a man’s tuxedo jacket), and into leopard prints, trench coats and, for a time in the 1970’s, peasant-inspired clothing in rich fabrics.”

“Mr. Saint Laurent often sought inspiration on the streets, bringing the Parisian beatnik style to couture runways and adapting the sailors’ peacoats he found in Army-Navy stores in New York into jackets that found their way into fashionable women’s wardrobes around the world.”

For anyone who wants the designer “knock off” version of St. Laurent’s penis jewelry, Etsy has tons of jokey penis earrings, necklaces, and dangling jewelry for a guy to wear directly on his family jewels. There is one called a “Dick Thang”, to “adorn his penis” for only $14.99.

Someone else is selling a shiny penis brass keychain ” for only $9.90 and another penis lover offers a fancy mini “penis ring” for $11.72. Many of the descriptions of the jewelry say stuff like “Perfect for church on Sunday or brunch with Grandma.” And from the number of reviews on some of these phallic items–reviews in the hundreds and thousands, X-rated penis jewelry is apparently “in.” Who knew?
