“Vagina Manicures” Celebrate Girl Power

Nails with tiny vaginas on them are now a thing. Professional manicurists are hand painting little lady bits on the hands of ladies across America. The new nails celebrate pussy power, and apparently hit a cord with at least 50% of the population who have one. Manicurists across the country are suddenly being asked to put pussies on people’s finger tips. A great conversation starter on a first date!

Our favorite version comes from Asa Bree, a “nail art connoisseur” and owner of Finger Bang in Portland, Oregon. Her little pink vaginas look like the real thing! Yay to the vulva! Vaginas rule! Who doesn’t love the “little girl in the boat,” the “pink taco,” the “meat wallet,” and the “cave of wonders.”

And if you’re ever in Portland, The Finger Bang sounds like fun girl trip. “A nail salon experience unlike any you’ve ever seen before!” they say. “Our platform allows you to be yourself, be loud, laugh amongst the guests, freely, and express yourself outside the box!”

We like the loud part. And the name of the salon is the best.

We could all use a good finger bang.

We also like the feminist nails. Rad.

Rosie Marie Romero, who also paints vaginas on nails, describes herself as an “artist and nail tech.” She creates “humorous social encounters and cultural exchanges that address issues of race, gender, class, women’s work and sexuality. Her “Porn Nails” project, is “an interactive installation & performance project that functions as a feminist nail salon. Clients are provided with manicures, gossip, intimacy, and friendship in exchange for juicy conversations about sex, love, and work.”

And who started this vagina nail trend? Finger Bang credits Gracie J, of the Editorial Nail, who was the nail designer for Claws, season 1, a scripted show on TNT about the female owner of a nail salon starring Niecy Nash. Gracie’s designs feature mini white coochies on nails with teeny piercings. Perfect for you next job interview! Or as Gracie says “An ode to the multifaceted female anatomy.”
