Giant Penis Pops Up In NYC

An enormous penis popped up the wall of a building in New York City, but a few days later, it petered out.

The massive mural, located on New York’s Lower East Side, quickly freaked out the locals, who didn’t like the idea of their small children asking “What’s that Mommy? A huge painting of Daddy’s penis?”

The pulsating mural was painted by Swedish artist Carolina Falkholt who posted the dick pic on her Instagram with the caption “I have never heard so much laughter and seen so many happy faces behind my back when painting as for today doing this wall on Broome Street.”

Apparently, the work of art was a collaboration between The New Allen, a Lower East Side art foundation that assists artists with street art. But the landlord of the building says he never gave permission to paint the side of his building with the erect, skyscraping member.

According to The New York Post, this guy, whose apartment faces the wall, was not thrilled about looking at the gigantic portrayal of manhood from the window of his apartment.

“There is a giant penis outside my window!” says a neighbor who has to look at the veiny piece of meat while he’s eating. Welcome to New York.

Three days later, the owner of the building decided it was time for the thing to lose its erection and had the public “pubic art” painted over.

According to WNBC-TV Falkholt said the painting is “about not being ashamed of your body and who you are as a sexual being. Talking about these subjects in public space is a must for a healthy, nonviolent community/world,” her artist’s statement says. “And the dialogue created around feminist public art pieces raises awareness.” At least she got people talking about penises, but next time maybe she should check with the owner of the building first.

“Art is one of the only places left where we can truly be free and discuss whatever difficult topics there are, since art has the ability to translate and transform language in any direction possible,” she said.

Falkholt is a Swedish artist in New York whose work has been shown in European museums, feature the female body and” are meant to challenge gender stereotypes.”

But what goes up must come down, as the first strokes of paint covered the giant purple python, and the artist vowed to rise again.

The penis painting goes “half-chub” after neighborhood complaints.
