The Gentlemen’s Ball in Atlanta Will Honor Black LGBT Gents

There are never enough gentlemen in this world, I say. And I am happy to see that someone is celebrating the “gentleman” as a male ideal that young men, all men, can aspire to. The other day I had the thought “Since when did acting like a gentleman become uncool? Men, women, everyone likes a man who acts like a gentlemen. A “real man” is a gentleman.

According to this announcement we received today “The Gentlemen’s Foundation is proud to announce the 7th Annual Gentlemen’s Ball in Atlanta, Georgia on October 6th. The Annual Gentlemen’s Ball is a black-tie Fundraising Gala and Awards Program that celebrates the accomplishments of Black LGBTQ people who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life of the black LGBTQ community and who have demonstrated a commitment to social change.”

“The Gentlemen’s Foundation has been committed to celebrating, supporting, empowering and mentoring Same Gender Loving, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer black men, as well as encouraging healthy dialogue on issues that promote development and growth, public service, leadership, and networking,” says Co-Founders Gee and Juan Smalls. “Not only will this be a night of entertainment, but it will be a night of philanthropy.”

“At the event, TGF’s Gentleman Scholar program will award monies to a Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer-identifying Black man for use in their higher educational pursuits; college and otherwise.”

The event will honor:
Actor/Musician, Jussie Smollett, and Black Lives Matter Co-Founder, Alicia Garza.

This event is a part of the 7th Annual Gentlemen’s Ball Weekend, an engaging, enlightening, and entertaining three-day celebration that features a series of events where guests are empowered to recharge their spirits and re-imagine their lives. Over the weekend, attendees from across the US will convene in Atlanta to experience dynamic panel discussions, an Empowerment Summit, seminars on financial, mental, and physical wellness.
